Synopsis :
This 2-day workshop aims to equip the healthcare providers with skills and knowledge on the basic concepts of costing and methods to calculate cost. Delivered by the experienced officers from Institute for Health Systems Research (IHSR), this workshop will deliver the current approach to costing. This workshop covers various types of costs, which include direct, indirect, variables and fixed costs. Also covered in the workshop are different methods of calculating the cost such as the Activity Based Costing (ABC) and top-down approach. By combining theoretical and hands-on approach, this workshop will provide the knowledge and skills necessary for the healthcare providers to tackle common issues and problem faced when calculating cost. At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to have a clear understanding on basic concept of costing and confidently calculate the cost for daily task, departmental use and even for policy change.
