NATIONAL INSTITUTES FOR HEALTH (NIH) MALAYSIA MERDEKA VIRTUAL RUN
Introduction
The NIH Malaysia Merdeka Virtual Run 2021 will be held in conjunction with Merdeka month and Malaysia Day. The main objective of this program is to cultivate the spirit of Independence, Malaysia Day, and love to our beloved country of Malaysia. In addition, this program can encourage NIH staff in general to practice a healthy lifestyle in daily life as well as strengthening relationships among NIH staff.

Format of the programme
Participants is encouraged to run or brisk walk during their leisure time anywhere permitted by the current National Recovery Plan (NRP) SOP. Highest accumulated steps collected (measured using BookDoc Apps) during the entire duration will be announced as the winner. Participants are also encouraged to participate in the “Best Malaysia Merdeka -theme Picture” competition by wearing Merdeka & Malaysia Day themed attire during any of run occasion and post a photo with hashtag #nihmalaysiamerdekarun.
- Virtual run is only open to NIH staff.
- Participants must use BookDoc Apps to record the distance of the run.
- Participant must adhere to the current National Recovery Plan (NRP) SOP.
- All risks are under the responsibility of the participants themselves and the organizers will not be responsible for accidents, injuries, or death, as well as loss or damage to property before, during and after the programme.
- Open to all NIH staff.
- No entry fees.
- The participant is responsible for their own costume and equipment.
- All participants are encouraged to dress in costume/ attire inspired by Malaysia Day or Independence Day for the “Best Malaysia Merdeka -theme Picture” competition.
- Participant is required to capture their entry photo and post it in Instagram with #nihmalaysiamerdekarun (profile need to set as public in order for the hashtag to be publicly view) The scores will be determined by the uniqueness & creativity of the costume worn.
- The judge's decision is final.
- All risks are under the responsibility of the participants themselves and the organizers will not be responsible for accidents, injuries, or death as well as loss or damage to property before, during and after the competition.
- There will be male and female categories in the competitions with prizes provided.
